Via a variety of routes and no thanks to BA the team assembled in the Hotel Maria, Moena yesterday and fortified by a venison-based meal when ready to take on the dolomites. Our sprightly mountain guides, Debbie and Paulo were there to meet us ready for our assault on Malga Bocche…..not a mountain but where we were going to meet for lunch.

We were all suitably worn out by the end of the day but exhilarated by such stunning scenery and relieved that our bodies had survived! The whole area had suffered from a severe storm in October that had demolished literally thousands of trees and we were lucky that the route we chose had been cleared.

There was also some interesting wild life!
....and a great meal at the end of the day.
